Okay, so I'm back from NYC.

What a cool city. But you already knew that.

The players: Kevin (the host), Ashwin (the host's co-worker), Danny (the crazy guy), Marc (the Italian), Angela (the girl), and Jeremiah (the narrator).
The playground: New Amsterdam.
The play:
Day1 - ditch work on Friday afternoon. Ride the Chinatown bus from Boston to Manhattan. Read a good book along the way. Hoof it to the Lower East Side. Eat some Italian grub. Grab some beers. Start a small, but extremely smoky, fire in a bar. Leave said bar. Find another. Resume imbibing beers. Get hungry. Find diner. Eat chocolate chip pancakes. Stumble home. Check watch. Egads! Pass out.

Day2 - Celtics and world's strongest man on the tube. Hot wings in the gullet. Central Park. On a rock in the sun. Nap time. Greenwich Village. Washington Square Park. Old guys playing with their balls. Dogs sniffing each others' butts. Cocktails on a couch. Indian grub. Battery Park. Beers with a view. Taxi home in the rain.

Day3 - Mexican grub. Bus ride to Beantown. Bask in NY afterglow.

Ya shoulda been there.

Do I smell bad?

The reason I ask is because no one will take a bus ride with me.

I'm going to to New York City this weekend to visit some friends from college. It will be an awesome weekend. We will eat, drink, and be merry, all the while quoting the Simpsons. Danny and Marc are coming from Ithaca. I've heard rumors Hanna might come up from Richmond. Angela lives there. I'm heading down from Boston. And Kevin's hosting the whole thing, since he's temporarily stationed in Manhattan. Doesn't it sound like fun? Then why do people keep bailing on me?

So far I've been rejected by two classmates (both close friends of everyone who's going), and two co-workers. Is there any one else out there who would like to reject me?

Anyway, when I get back, I'll detail the wonderful time I had. And all you lame-o jerkasses who dissed me can get bent.

My brain is currently involved in trying to decide what season it is. There is supporting evidence for any one of three choices. It could be summer, because it's baseball season and I wore a short-sleeve shirt to work today. Or it could be spring, because that's what the calendar says. Or, it could be winter, since there's hockey on tv (another Wings' victory tonight), and an inch of freaking snow on the ground! Snow! I'm angry about this whole snow thing.

So, I'm doing something socially responsible.

Read about it. If you're inspired or something, give me money. Better yet, sign up and do it yourself.

So, I've done a little sprucing up of the place. The interface for this thing is pretty slick.

Other than that, I spent the evening watching the Pistons storm back in the second half to beat the evil Canadian dinosaurs. Jerry Stackhouse is unstoppable when he decides to go to the hole. And the Red Wings won last night to even their series with the Canucks. These things make me happy. Am I pathetic? Don't answer that.

Look for more here soon.

Inspired by Miss Holly Haines, I have decided to try my hand at the world of online babbling.

You can do it too.
