Here's a link to a speech given by Al Gore on Monday regarding the dangerous unchecked growth of Executive power in America:

You can also get it from libertyspeeches.org.
It's an hour long, so you might have to watch it a little at a time, but you'll be glad you did, and it'll make you think.

Miles has posted something that makes me think.
He talks about the difference between a life evaluated based on peace and clarity, as compared to one that values productivity most.
The main problem I see with judging your successes and failures in accordance with your productivity is the fleeting nature of such a rubric. If I am productive today, I am a success. If I am not productive tomorrow, am I a failure, or am I half as successful as I was today? Either way, it seems like the only way to get your success fix is to be equally or more productive every day. Not likely.
I'm not saying that I've avoided the trap. That I don't, to use Miles's words, "prioritize energy, and focus, and productivity." I'm just saying that I'm inspired and encouraged by a concept of self-worth that builds over time, and doesn't have to judged against the fleeting timescale of our day-to-day lives.
Thanks for making me think, Miles, even if I'm incapable of putting exactly what I feel into words.
Also, Tegan and Sara are on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight. I've never seen them live, but I like their sound, so I'll go ahead and recommend that you watch.

Inspired by Booch, I took a quiz:

You're a little gold key, and you unlock other
people's hearts. Your kindness and willingness
to be there for those you care about lets
people open up to you knowing they will be
accepted. People will rely on you, but be
careful not to give more than you have.
While I'm flattered by the assessment, it appears Quizilla thinks I'm a girl.
What sort of key are you and what do you unlock?
